Iraq exported 70 mln barrels of oil in August and current daily exports exceed 3.0 mln bpd, Oil Minister Bassim Mohammed said on state TV. Baghdad has started a pilot to truck crude from southern fields to Kirkuk storage to raise supply into the northern export system and lift shipments via Turkey’s Ceyhan port to above 600k bpd. The initiative is aimed at boosting northern-route throughput after conflict involving the US, Israel and Iran disrupted Iraq’s shipments via the Strait of Hormuz. Kurdistan-region output is about 200k bpd.

Treasury Secretary Bessent said officials are assessing feasibility given overall refining capacity and whether a full or partial ban would be effective. Trump made the remarks during a meeting with Ukrainian President Zelenskiy at the UNGA and said he has urged Zelenskiy to curb strikes on Russian energy infrastructure.
