Forecasts show Typhoon Bawei and its moisture will produce heavy locally extreme rain over the next three days across Beijing, Tianjin, Anhui, Jiangxi, Liaoning and Heilongjiang, with short-duration torrential downpours and heightened risks of flash floods, geological hazards, small‑/medium‑river floods and urban waterlogging. Under the national flood-control emergency plan, the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters at 20:00 on July 11 upgraded flood emergency response from level 4 to level 3 for Beijing, Tianjin, Liaoning, Anhui and Jiangxi, and activated a level‑4 response for Heilongjiang. The headquarters has sent an office working group to Beijing to assist and guide flood-control operations. (Ministry of Emergency Management)
