Samsung Electronics will unveil its flagship Galaxy Z8 foldable smartphone, its first wide-folding screen phone, at an event in London on July 22. Samsung is expected to launch three foldable devices: the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8.
According to Electronic Times, due to rising component costs, prices are expected to increase by up to 200,000 won (approximately 904 yuan) compared to the previous generation. The 256GB version of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra will be priced at 2.57 million won (approximately 11,619 yuan), the Galaxy Z Fold8 at 2.27 million won (approximately 10,262 yuan), and the Galaxy Z Flip8 at 1.68 million won (approximately 7,595 yuan). The new Galaxy Z8 series is expected to officially launch on August 7.
Industry sources indicate that Apple plans to launch a foldable screen model this September, which will also adopt a wide-folding design. With the established market positioning of Huawei's Pura X series, the competitive landscape for foldable smartphones will intensify significantly in the second half of 2026.
