Sector movers: chips, optical communications, PCB-related names and mobile gaming led declines; pharma outsourcing (CRO), defence, pork producers and autos were among the gainers. Stock moves: Zhipu (02513.HK) fell more than 19%; MINIMAX-W (00100.HK) down over 9%; Hua Hong (01347.HK) down over 8%; CATL (03750.HK) down nearly 8%; SMIC (00981.HK) down over 4%. Winners included Goldwind (02208.HK) up more than 8%; CK Hutchison (00001.HK) up over 7%; Leapmotor (09863.HK) up about 6%; WuXi AppTec (02359.HK) up over 4%; Xiaomi Group (01810.HK) up over 3%.

China's A-share market showed divergent early trade. At midday the Shanghai Composite was up 0.76%, the Shenzhen Composite rose 0.61% and the ChiNext fell 0.65%. Innovative drug names led gains: Changshan Pharmaceutical +20%, with Zhongsheng Pharmaceutical, Joinn New Drug and Shuanglu Pharmaceutical hitting limit-up. AI application stocks were active; Fushi Holdings and Zhewen Interactive hit limit-up. Outperformers included film chains, baijiu, precious metals, property services and gaming; laggards included semiconductors, energy metals, brokerages, industrial gases, silicon carbide and lab-grown diamond concepts. More than 4,400 stocks advanced and half-day turnover exceeded CNY 2.18 trillion.
