Industry sources say Samsung Electronics has raised supply prices for new customers by about 15%, concentrated on in-demand advanced processes (4nm, 5nm) and some automotive 8nm. TSMC has notified major clients it plans to lift supply quotes for 3nm, 5nm and 7nm by roughly 5–10%. Market focus is less on the headline increases than on a change in pricing logic: same-node price hikes, once uncommon absent a node transition, are occurring as AI-driven capex expands and supply tightness persists, boosting foundries’ bargaining power. Industry participants say TSMC is leading re-pricing within existing nodes. If the AI investment cycle and advanced-node demand tightness continue, the upward pricing trend in wafer-foundry services may persist.
