Qatar's foreign ministry said the Qatari prime minister and foreign minister
took a phone call from Iran's foreign minister Alaghezi. The prime minister said
that while there are efforts to ease regional tensions, Qatar condemns and
firmly opposes attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, warning
such acts undermine mutual trust, threaten freedom of navigation and
international maritime security, and damage efforts to consolidate regional
security and stability.
