After years of sluggish growth, BNEF says global nuclear capacity could reach
535 GW by 2036, a 44% increase and up from 372 GW reported last year. The report
cites rising demand for zero‑carbon power driven by climate policy, stronger
load growth from industrial users, accelerating household electrification and
hyperscale data centers, and higher public acceptance prompting governments and
utilities to reassess policies that previously constrained nuclear development.
