CHINA urged the US to immediately end its blockade and coercive pressure on Cuba, denouncing illegal unilateral sanctions lacking an international-law basis and calling on Washington to stop infringing Cubans' rights to subsistence and development. French media reported on the 6th that the French foreign ministry said all its diplomatic staff in Burkina Faso have been withdrawn to France. The ministry said Burkina Faso’s diplomats must leave France by the evening of the 6th. Burkina Faso’s government said in a June 26 communiqué it had immediately severed diplomatic relations with France, saying bilateral ties should be founded on mutual respect for sovereignty, trust and non-interference and that foundation no longer exists. The French foreign ministry on June 26 called the decision “hostile and unfounded” and said it reflected “worrying” tendencies in Burkina Faso’s authorities.
