According to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), in the week ending June 30, speculators reduced their net short positions in U.S. ultra-long-term Treasury futures on the Chicago Board of Trade by 31,431 contracts to 286,669 contracts; reduced their net short positions in 10-year Treasury futures by 26,375 contracts to 808,891 contracts; reduced their net short positions in 2-year Treasury futures by 31,265 contracts to 1,287,581 contracts; and reduced their net short positions in U.S. Treasury futures by 85,263 contracts to 90,780 contracts. However, their net short positions in 5-year Treasury futures increased by 19,241 contracts to 1,320,510 contracts.
