July 2-3 — NPC Standing Committee vice chairman He Wei represented China at the
funeral in Tehran for Iran's late supreme leader Khamenei. He met President
Pezeshkian and Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf, and said China welcomes the Iran‑US
memorandum of understanding, urging both sides to implement existing outcomes,
maintain the ceasefire, act rationally and pragmatically, and consolidate
negotiation momentum. He also urged that the Strait of Hormuz issue be properly
handled and called for harmonious relations among regional states.
