UK services activity contracted for a second month in June, with the final
services PMI sliding to 48.8 from 49.3 in May — the weakest reading since
January 2023. New business declined at the fastest pace since November 2022.
Firms cited the ongoing conflict involving Iran, uncertainty over who would
replace Starmer and the direction of fiscal policy, and persistent global
inflationary pressures.
