A South China Sea tropical depression strengthened into this year’s 10th
typhoon, Maysak, at tropical‑storm intensity early on July 3 and is expected to
make landfall this afternoon along the coast between Sanya and Lingshui. Sanya
Phoenix International Airport, following CAAC guidance and after coordination
with air traffic control and carriers, will suspend flight takeoffs and landings
from 17:00 on July 3, 2026.
