President Trump declined to commit to signing a bipartisan housing bill that
Congress passed more than a week ago, saying he will not sign it until Congress
sends the contested election measure, the SAVE America Act, to his desk. Trump
called the SAVE America Act the most important bill now and for years to come.
The measure would require voters to show photo ID at the polls and provide proof
of citizenship when registering. He said the housing bill contains many
Democratic provisions he objects to and that he would rather sign no bill until
SAVE is enacted.
