He Lifeng, Politburo member and secretary of the Central Financial Work Commission, presided over a Party-building meeting for the financial system in Beijing on July 2-3 and called for a stepped-up push to consolidate Party control and governance across the sector. He ordered stronger politics construction and ideological training, improvement of Party-management systems across the financial system and at local financial institutions, and reinforcement of cadre and talent development; he also demanded deeper rectification of central inspection and audit findings, intensified discipline enforcement and anti-corruption work, and targeted correction of the "four unhealthy work styles," maintaining a high-pressure stance on corruption. He said authorities must consolidate education on correct performance metrics, prioritize H2 key financial tasks, raise urgency and accountability, continue financial risk prevention and resolution, strengthen supervision, and deploy finance fully to support high-quality economic and social development to help meet annual targets and secure a strong start to the 15th Five-Year Plan.
