The EIA said US crude production in April rose to 13.93 mln b/d, a record, up
216,000 b/d MoM as higher prices linked to the Iran war prompted producers to
ramp up activity. New Mexico hit a record 2.37 mln b/d; Texas rose 36,000 b/d to
5.83 mln b/d, its highest since November; North Dakota climbed to 1.13 mln b/d,
also a November-era high. The Permian basin (Texas and New Mexico) accounts for
roughly half of US crude output.
