June 30 — China foreign minister Wang Yi met Saudi foreign minister Faisal in
Beijing. Wang welcomed the start of US–Iran talks, called the current ceasefire
fragile and urged preservation and implementation of the memorandum of
understanding, continued negotiation momentum and efforts to overcome
disruptions to secure a comprehensive agreement acceptable to both the US and
Iran, regional states and the international community. China said it will work
with Saudi Arabia to help de‑escalate tensions and pursue long-term regional
stability, and supports a larger Saudi role in international and regional
affairs while upholding UN authority and promoting a fairer global governance
system.
