June 29 — Midea said Chinese factories are running overtime to meet surging
European demand and the company has shifted shipments to China-Europe rail
service with 15–25 day transit times, roughly 25 days faster than sea, while
local subsidiaries are expediting customs clearance and channel distribution.
Gree Electric said European channels are fully sold out and overseas dealers are
rushing replenishment to secure market supply. Midea’s plug-and-play PortaSplit
mobile split AC is sold out in Germany, the UK, France and the Netherlands;
year-to-date PortaSplit shipments have exceeded 200,000 units, double last
year’s full-year sales.
