Beijing, June 29 — Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun reiterated that China
has an EEZ and continental shelf east of Taiwan and that Chinese agencies’
activities there are lawful. He said Japan and the Philippines bypassed China to
unilaterally launch so‑called maritime delimitation talks, a move that seriously
violates UNCLOS and basic norms of international relations and seriously
infringes China’s maritime rights; China will not allow it.
