The PLA Southern Theater deployed naval and air assets for routine patrols in
the South China Sea on June 27-28, spokesperson Zhai Shichen said. He accused
the Philippines of enlisting external states to carry out so-called 'joint
patrols', called the actions disruptive, and said theater forces will firmly
defend China’s territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and maintain regional
stability.
