June 28 — Putin told media Russia has proposed that both sides stop striking
each other’s deep (rear-area) targets; he warned that if such strikes continue,
Russian strikes on Ukrainian depth will become more powerful and consequences
more severe. He said Russia will not give Ukraine an opportunity to halt Russian
advances and that Ukrainian strikes on Russian infrastructure will not alter
frontline dynamics. Putin added Kyiv may undertake diversionary actions and that
sabotage teams penetrating Russian-held areas are being quickly eliminated.
