Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said at a regular briefing on the 26th
that maintaining stability in waters between China and South Korea and an
orderly fisheries production regime is in both countries' interest. China
requires its fishermen to operate in accordance with laws and regulations and
will firmly safeguard their lawful rights. The two sides have a mature fisheries
dialogue mechanism and maintain close communication on related issues.
