CHINA STATE PLANNER and the National Energy Administration issued the 15th
Five-Year Plan for new energy system construction, directing active, safe and
orderly nuclear power development. Policy prioritizes third-generation
pressurized water reactors, calls for maintaining a steady construction pace,
advancing R&D and demonstration of advanced reactor types, and promoting
site-appropriate integrated uses of nuclear energy. Target: operating nuclear
capacity of about 110 GW by 2030.
