Aumovio SE CFO Doenges said negotiations to buy memory chips for next year are
deteriorating as AI firms consume large volumes of key components. "It's
difficult to secure sufficient volumes; we've contacted suppliers but no one is
willing to agree on prices," she said. Aumovio, a supplier to Volkswagen and
Ford, is also contending with supply tightness from the Middle East conflict and
higher raw-material costs. A week ago BMW sharply cut its profit-margin target,
citing ongoing business weakness and economic effects from the US–Israel
conflict and the Iran war.
