At 17:04 local time on June 24 an earthquake struck off Venezuela's northern
coast. Colombia's Geological Service reported a magnitude 7.5 quake, epicentre
at 10.89°N, 67.74°W, depth under 30 km; the USGS reported a 7.1 quake near
Morón. The US Tsunami Warning System issued a tsunami threat alert. Authorities
are monitoring; there are no official reports of casualties or damage.
