June 24 — China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said Beijing favors
resolving regional disputes through dialogue, opposes the use or threat of
force, and views the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding (MoU)—under which
both parties pledge to respect each other's sovereignty and territory
integrity, refrain from military action and avoid interference in internal
affairs—as a positive signal that should be jointly maintained and implemented.
Guo said China maintains an impartial stance, supports efforts to conduct
peace, backs Iran's sovereignty, security and national dignity, and supports
Iran improving ties with Gulf and regional states. He added China is willing,
under Xi Jinping's four-point proposal, to provide assistance in its own way and
play a constructive role in restoring regional peace and stability.
