On June 23 Dongfang Zirconium’s subsidiary Qinyang Donggao New Materials
Technology Co. began construction of a Phase I plant to produce 60,000 t/yr of
new‑energy battery‑grade zirconium oxychloride and 12,000 t/yr of
zirconium‑hafnium separated high‑purity oxides. Phase I total investment is 532
mln yuan; on completion the project will provide 60,000 t/yr of battery‑grade
zirconium oxychloride capacity.
