June 23 — The world's first 100,000-ton-class salmon farming vessel Suhai 1
began its first commercial harvest in Weihai, Shandong. Commissioned for
operation at end-2025, the vessel stocked land‑reared juveniles and fattened
them in a natural deep‑cold sea environment. Suhai 1 contains 15 closed farming
pens with about 83,000 m3 of effective culture water and uses a full-ship
intelligent control system for environmental monitoring, centralized automatic
feeding and ship‑shore integrated management. Its roaming production model
follows water temperatures and is designed to avoid typhoon and red tide risks.
