CATL unveiled on June 22 what it describes as the world’s first validated station-level sodium-ion energy storage solution, launching the Tianheng sodium-ion system. A single system exceeds 30MWh and uses a fully modular design separating energy and power modules. CATL plans first China deliveries in September (this year), targets 1GWh of sodium-ion shipments in 2026, and expects global deliveries to start in June next year.
