June 22, 2026 — Wang Yi, member of the CCP Political Bureau and director of the
Central Foreign Affairs Office, met Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval
in New Delhi. Wang said China views India as an important neighbor and urged
bilateral cooperation with a long-term, global perspective. He called on the
Global South, including China and India, to use BRICS to advance multipolarity,
developing countries’ legitimate interests and steer the international defense
order toward greater fairness, and said China supports India’s BRICS
chairmanship and will work with New Delhi to strengthen the bloc.
