Channel 12 reported on the evening of the 21st that Israel is considering a
'small-scale' pullback from southern Lebanon. Israeli politics and security
leadership held consultations over the past 24 hours and have been communicating
with the US at multiple levels. Citing senior officials, the report said Israel
has not received any US request to withdraw forces from southern Lebanon, but is
studying limited withdrawals from areas beyond the Blue Line currently held by
the IDF. The report added US pressure has raised the likelihood of an IDF
pullback, while Israel stressed its bottom line is to remain within the Blue
Line.
