U.S. Vice President Vance said ahead of travel to Switzerland that talks with
Iran will prioritize progress on the nuclear issue and push for a Lebanon
ceasefire. He said a political leadership–led framework will be set at the
highest level while technical teams continue on the ground, and that he expects
to stay in Switzerland one to two days but hopes to advance handling of Iranian
nuclear material. Vance said securing a Lebanon ceasefire is also a priority
after recent Israeli missile strikes in the area and that the situation will
require ongoing management; he added Iran will have its own items it wants to
discuss.
