President Donald Trump said Russia and Ukraine agreed to a three-day ceasefire
from May 9-11, coinciding with Russia’s Victory Day celebrations. Trump said the
agreement also includes a prisoner exchange involving 1,000 prisoners from each
side. There was no immediate confirmation from Russian President Vladimir Putin
or Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. “Hopefully, it is the beginning of
the end of a very long, deadly, and hard fought War,” Trump said in a social
media post.
