Leapmotor is expanding in Europe’s largest auto market with an ultra-low-cost EV strategy. In Germany, its T03 city car can be leased from €49 per month, roughly half the cost of a comparable Fiat 500, supported by a new EV subsidy and standard features such as a rear-view camera, six airbags, and a panoramic sunroof. Sales in Germany rose more than fourfold in April, with deliveries up 358% in the first four months to 4,523 units. The growth reflects broader competition from Chinese automakers, including BYD and Geely, as they leverage a €3 billion German subsidy program to challenge European rivals with affordable EVs and hybrids.
