President Donald Trump has removed Pam Bondi as attorney general, according to a
source familiar with the matter, with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche set
to serve as interim replacement. Trump had recently signaled her impending
dismissal in a “tough” conversation and may assign her another role, potentially
a judicial post.
The decision follows mounting frustration over her handling of Jeffrey
Epstein-related files and perceived shortcomings tied in pursuing investigations
to Trump’s political priorities. Internal tensions also involved a probe linked
to John Brennan. Lee Zeldin is among potential permanent replacements under
consideration.
