Donald Trump threatened to stop weapons supplies to Ukraine to pressure European
allies into joining a coalition to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, according to
officials. The strait’s disruption has choked a key oil route. At the urging of
Mark Rutte, countries including France, Germany and the United Kingdom issued a
March 19 statement signaling readiness to act. Marco Rubio said Ukraine supplies
remain unaffected so far, but future diversion is possible.
