Huawei Technologies Co.’s growth slowed sharply in 2025, with revenue rising
2.2% to 880.9 billion yuan, versus about 22% a year earlier, as Apple Inc.’s
iPhone 17 gained traction in China and local AI chip rivals emerged. Huawei’s
China smartphone shipments fell 2%, though it retained market leadership, while
Apple grew 4%. Net profit rose 8.7%, aided by a fast-growing smart car unit. R&D
spending increased 7% to over 190 billion yuan as Huawei invests in AI, EVs and
a proprietary operating system.
