European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen: I had a good call with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer tonight. We discussed the progress made and reaffirmed our shared commitment to updating our agenda. We have agreed to begin negotiations next week on the Sanitary and Phytosanitary Agreement and the Emissions Trading System Agreement. Regarding the UK's participation in our SAFE instrument, we will continue to work together to achieve mutually beneficial results.
